In A World Like This Tour

I have been a fan of the Backstreet Boys for over 17 years now, but unlike so many other fans, I have never actually gotten to see them in concert. 

Five shows have come through my hometown and every time, I either didn't have the extra cash, ticket’s were sold out when I did get the extra money or some unforeseen situation arose that prevented me from going. Then there’s the special case of the Never Gone Tour in 2005. My “best friend” surprised me with a ticket and said she’d pick me up an hour before the concert. Half an hour before the show, I hadn't heard a word from her, so I called her. She told me that she gave my ticket to her cousin, because although her cousin wasn't a fan of the Backstreet Boys, she wanted to go to the show. Needless to say, I don’t talk to her anymore.

You have to understand, I still have all of my old posters and magazine’s. I still have the burger king figures. All my shirts are still in my dresser. I have a stack of collectible photo cards, old BSB tapes and of course the CD’s. 

The Backstreet Boys have been my favourite group for 17 years. They always will be and I’d just sort accepted that, y’know, I was never going to see them in concert. So when it was announced on the news that they were coming here…well, cue the breakdown.

I got my ticket (floor seat) and then there was nothing to do but wait for the show. 

I wont go into details, but suffice it to say, it was the best concert I've ever been to and I got some great photos. They sang a wide variety of songs off most of their albums which was great because I've missed so many opportunities to hear the older songs live.  

And now I’m crying. lol  It was just awesome to see them live. I mean…the chair dance, Brian's goofing around, KEVIN! Such an amazing evening and well worth the 17 year wait. Hope I don't have to wait as long for the next show.
